Working in partnership with the client and their architect, Britspace has been involved with this project since inception. Phase I of the project was two storeys of apartments on top of an existing three storey building; Phase II was eight floors of apartments in a stand alone building.

The range of apartments has a smart use of space and innovative design features. They are designed for one to three people and comprise of entrance hall, open-plan living and dining area, space saving kitchen, and one or two bedrooms each with a shower room. A light, airy feel is achieved through the extensive use of glazing.

The modules are constructed using a lightweight galvanised steel frame, which has a 60-year design life. Ventilation is supplied by a tilt and slide door, which is installed in the curtain walling system; this curtain wall makes one wall to the living area.

All modules are delivered to site fully decorated and fitted from floor finishes to sofas ready for permanent installation and connection to services.

A prototype unit was also built enabling the client to physically walk in and see first hand exactly what the finished product would look like. This allowed for any potential issues or changes to be recognised before mass manufacture commenced.
